How We Met

Nicole and Corey met six years ago while working together at the hospital. Their shared passion for helping people, love for animals, and appreciation for the great outdoors made them instant friends. Later, when Nicole began volunteering at Aimee's Farm Animal Sanctuary, she met Laura and Robin — and the circle grew.

Surrounding themselves with people who share the same passions has created strong and lasting friendships. Together, the four have gone on day trips to places like Desert Donkey Experience, Ghost Ranch Capybaras, Sedona Wolf Sanctuary, and Plum Creek Alpacas (before they relocated to Kentucky). They truly enjoy learning all they can about every kind of animal.

Even though they are quite experienced around farm animals, they strongly believe in continuing education. They are always researching local farmers, trainers, and animal enthusiasts to spend time with and learn even more.

Robin

Robin grew up in Florida but traded dodging alligators for desert sunsets when she moved her family to Arizona six years ago. She loves spending time with her husband, three children, and their four dogs — Ace, Molly, Scooby, and Lila. Robin enjoys paddle boarding down the Salt River, always hoping to catch a glimpse of the wild horses, and visiting local sanctuaries to learn more about animals. She is also a master creator at Donkey & Danes, where she can customize just about anything! In addition to her creative work, Robin proudly volunteers at Aimee's Farm Animal Sanctuary.

Fun Fact: 3 of Robin’s 4 dogs are Great Danes!

Corey

Corey is a true Arizona native with a passion for both healthcare and animals. She works as a surgical assistant and loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs, Reba and Hank.  Corey enjoys being outdoors, volunteering with animals, and staying active on not just one, but two bowling leagues. A dedicated sports fan, she proudly cheers for the Arizona Diamondbacks, calling them the best baseball team around!

Fun Fact:  She has a pet tarantula

Laura

Laura loves spending time with her husband and their dog, Harry. When she isn't working, she enjoys volunteering at Aimee's Farm Animal Sanctuary, crafting, reading, and playing Mahjong with friends. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Laura has called Arizona home for the past 18 years. She holds a Master’s degree and believes that "once you stop learning, you stop living." Her favorite animals are goats, and one day, she hopes to visit the Galapagos Islands to see the giant tortoises.

Fun Fact: She is working on her 60 things to do before age 60.

Nicole

Nicole is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but has called Arizona home for the past 27 years. She works as a surgical assistant and loves helping both people and animals. When she isn’t at work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and their two rescue cats, Geno and Sunny. A true outdoor enthusiast, she loves hiking, camping, horseback riding, fishing, and kayaking. Her most memorable adventure was hiking Havasupai, where she covered 44 miles in just four days. Having been around farm animals most of her life, Nicole is proud to volunteer at Aimee's Farm Animal Sanctuary.

Fun Fact:  Nicole has also participated in two cattle drives — one in the Colorado mountains at Black Mountain Ranch in McCoy, and another here in Arizona at Don Donnelly’s Spur Ranch, helping bring in their longhorns.
